Whipped Coffee //Make it yourself at home

By Rikki Samuels

Pre-corona days, whenever I needed some me time I would get into the car and just drive to random stores to browse their products. Now my outlet is the short walk to the dumpster to take out the garbage. Oh, the joy of walking a minute all by my lonesome!
Everyone I talk to misses something else. My sister said she would do anything to just go to the coffee shop and pick up a freshly brewed coffee. “Lucky you it’s only coffee,” I teased her. “That’s something you can make in your own kitchen. But browsing clothing in my own closet is the last thing I want to do.”
She disagreed. “There is no way I can recreate the same authentic taste. And even if I could, it’s not worth the time and effort that goes into it.”
“There is an awesome recipe that has become the latest craze for whipped coffee and it’s really easy,” I replied. “All you need to do is mix 2 tablespoons each of coffee, sugar and hot water in a bowl for 3-5 minutes until the mixture forms peaks. You don’t even need a hand mixer; you can do it by hand. Once the whipped coffee is thick and frothy, pour it into a glass of milk with ice cubes.”
Later that day my sister called as she sipped her cup of coffee. She had closeted herself in a room with a cup of coffee, a chocolate and a book. She had found her outlet. I’m still waiting for my at-home browsing experience.
