Will the Houthi Attack on the UAE Change the Middle East? // Israel and the UAE face a common enemy

Over the past few weeks, the United Arab Emirates has been the target of missile and drone attacks by the Houthis, the Yemeni religious extremist group and proxy of Iran that has been battling Saudi Arabia inside Yemen. Although the Houthis have attacked Saudi Arabia countless times, they only recently began attacking the UAE, killing three people and causing alarm throughout the capital city of Dubai.
The attacks elicited various responses from the UAE’s allies. The US sent over the USS Cole, a guided missile destroyer, along with advanced fighter jets. (That’s in addition to the use of US Patriot missile systems to help shoot down the Houthi missiles.) The French said that they would be reinforcing the Emirati air defenses, as well.
Israel also made overtures to the UAE, a partner in the Abraham Accords. During President Isaac Herzog’s recent visit, he made clear that Israel sees the UAE’s security as paramount. There have even been some reports in Israeli media that Israel might share its Iron Dome system with the UAE, although they have been disputed.
