Mustard and meat: do you know of a better combination? This sweet and smoky dish makes a great vegetable side.

12 ounces fresh broccoli
2 ounces Facon or beef fry
2 tablespoons brown mustard
2 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
2 drops liquid smoke

  1. Trim broccoli stems and discard. In a pot of boiling water, blanch broccoli. Drain and set aside in an ice bath.
  2. In a small bowl, combine mustard, honey, vinegar, and liquid smoke. Set aside.
  3. In a skillet, fry the Facon and set aside. Discard excess fat from skillet and return pan to the fire. Add broccoli and sauce and toss to coat. Cut Facon into slices and add to broccoli. Mix and serve hot.
