For the first time, 600-plus students, parents, teachers and lay leaders traveled to Albany to fight for their yeshivah education. “When I signed up for Teach NYS Mission to Albany, I thought it would be an educational opportunity for my students,” Rabbi Jeffrey Kobrin, rosh yeshivah of the North Shore Hebrew Academy said. “But it was so much more than that. This is how change happens.”
The historic Mission to Albany was organized by Teach NYS, a division of the Orthodox Union. While Jews the world over are familiar with the ubiquitous “U” in a circle, Teach NYS has a relatively lower profile. But that’s about to change.
Teach NYS is dedicated to one goal: Making Jewish education affordable and safe for all children and all families.
